The Holmen Vikings were just two games away from the State Tournament, but first they had to take on #2 Waunakee at Middleton High School.
Holmen's Kevin Koelbl had an RBI single in the top of the first inning allowing the Vikings to get on the board first 1-0. However, in the bottom of the inning Nate Stevens blasted one to right field for a 2 RBI double, and Waunakee took the lead.
From there, they didn't let up. With a four-run lead in the second inning, Stevens did it again, but this time it was a 3-run homer. Waunakee extended their lead 8-1.
Waunakee went on to beat Holmen 13-2 in 5 innings.
