Unofficial order of Democratic candidates on primary ballot

Posted: Updated:

Unofficial results show Democratic candidate for governor, Andy Gronik, will be the first name out of nine others on the primary ballot in August. The unofficial order was randomly selected by the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Ten Democrats are seeking to be on the ballot. The order will be finalized after a meeting Monday, in which the commission will confirm the validity of the nomination signatures of each candidate.

1) Andy Gronik

2) Matt Flynn

3) Tony Evers

4) Josh Pade

5) Mike McCabe

6) Mahlon Mitchell

7) Kelda Roys

8) Paul Soglin

9) Kathleen Vinehout

10) Dana Wachs

Andy Gronik and state Rep. Dana Wachs are being challenged by the Republican Party if all their signatures are credible.  Both campaigns disputed these claims earlier in the week. Candidates have until Thursday at 4:30 p.m to answer to their complaints.

It’s been shown through Marquette University Law School Polls that many voters are still undecided on who to vote for in the primary. In 2016, economist Darren Grant of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas conducted a study if the first name of the ballot has an advantage over the others. His study found being listed first can help a candidate, especially when there’s four or more names.
