Trempealeau County authorities believe the suspect in a cabin break-in Thursday is the man at the center of a statewide search.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department said they got a report of the break-in around 6:34 p.m. Thursday. The cabin is located in the Town of Preston southeast of Blair.
A neighbor called authorities to say the spoke to the owner of the cabin who said no one should be at the home.
When deputies and officers from the Blair Police Department went to the cabin, they found it had been broken into, but whoever did had already left the area.
A statement from the department said that based on the investigation, they believe that the person who broke in was Jonathan P. Pogreba. They also said they have reason to believe that he's no longer in the Trempealeau County area.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Friday morning that investigators found a small amount of blood at the cabin, so the believe he may be injured.
They also said the owner of the cabin is related to Jonathan Pogreba and doesn't live in Trempealeau County.
A note left at the cabin was left there that they believe came from Jonathan. The note said he took the plates off of the white BMW he was driving and would be traveling to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota where he would leave the car and move out on foot.
Waukesha County said that Pogreba's credit card was used in Mauston.
Pogreba is wanted in Waukesha County for a domestic incident where he's accused of using a gun.
Pogreba is described as a 6-foot tall white male, weighing approximately 210 pounds.
The vehicle that Pogreba is believed to be driving is a white 2015 BMW 328XI, 4-door sedan with WI registration plates of 128-YCW.
He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, dark jeans, black tennis shoes with white trim, and a black baseball hat with yellow lettering.
Pogreba is considered armed and dangerous.
If anyone sees Pogreba or his vehicle, they are asked to contact 911.
