Western Technical College's Law Enforcement 720 Academy was recently honored for their fundraising efforts and was announced as one the winners of the 2018 Law Enforcement/DOC Polar Plunge Challenge in Wisconsin.

Western was named to top fundraising university police department team. The team raised $3,800. In recognition for the teams efforts, they were recognized and honored at the Special Olympics State Summer Games on Thursday, June 7 at UW-Stevens Point. This is the second year the group has been honored for their fundraising efforts.

"Law enforcement is not just about protecting our citizens, it's also about giving back to the community," said Kevin Dean, associate dean for Health and Public Safety at Western. "We are proud to be able to contribute to this effort, and it shows the commitment our students have for our community and the state."
