La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -

The Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary is celebrating 65 years of service.

Established in 1953, the auxiliary is a volunteer organization which lends support through fundraising, service, and educational projects.

The La Crosse Auxiliary sponsors the hospital gift shop, a geranium sale, and multiple book fairs. Through their 65 years, they have supported the YWCA, The Boys and Girls Club, and the skate park.

Past President of the Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary Sue Lynch says that with teamwork these 65 years have been very successful, "Well it's wonderful. It's not just one person or two people, it is this organization that continues to flourish with the activity in our community and when I reflect on what we have given through our Tiny Tim's fund, our geranium scholarship money to the Viterbo students and the technical students to aid them in higher education we are just so proud of everything that we do" said Lynch.

"We really have worked as a team from years before even currently it seems that the team concept of success resonates in this organization" added Lynch.

Auxiliary membership is open to any community member. For more information call 608-392-2709.
