Onalaska, WI (WXOW) -

Local American Legion Branches are hitting the road to help put kids on the right path for their education. The 2018 Legacy Ride revs up Saturday, June 16.

The ride benefits the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund which goes to kids of post-9/11 veterans who have died on active duty or have a combined VA disability rating of 50% or higher. Riders who want to support the cause can make a donation of $30 ($20 per passenger) to take part in the more than 100 mile ride around the Coulee Region Saturday as part of Onalaska Community Days.

Organizers say it's kickstands up at 10 a.m. from the Onalaska Legion Post 336. Those interested can register online on the group's Facebook page or at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
