The new Miss Wisconsin will be crowned this weekend in Oshkosh.
It's the last time women will have to compete in a swimsuit.
Final rehearsals are wrapping up and many say this weekend will be bittersweet.
Miss America announced last week it's nixing the swimsuit competition.
Now, local pageant officials hope young women will focus more on the good they can do, instead of how good they look.
"Instead of looking at it as a revolution, which I think some people do, it's more of an evolution," said Jeanne Schmal, Executive Director of Miss Wisconsin. "It's something that's kind of transitioned through the years and has come to this point now. And maybe it's high time."
Twenty-seven women are competing for the chance to be Miss Wisconsin. This weekend's winner will go on to compete in the national pageant in September.
