On Thursday, Aptiv, formerly known as Riverfront, featured some of the upcoming resources and programs available for people with disabilities in the area.
Every year the organization opens their doors to the public for their Resource Fair. The event offers community members an opportunity to learn about the various services Aptiv provides, while collaborating with other organizations to exhibit additional support opportunities offered throughout the Coulee Region.
"We are all, no matter where you work at in this field, we are all in it to do what's best for people with disabilities," Aptiv Community Outreach Specialist Jimmy Westland describes.
"So we are all collaborating to do what's best for people with disabilities, to advocate for, or to advocate with people," Westland elaborates.
The fair focuses on more than just programs offered by Aptiv. In an effort to create an event that is convenient for attendees, Thursday's Resource Fair features education regarding various resources all under one roof.
"At Aptiv one of our main goals is to collaborate with other places, so collaboration is one of those great things. We are just here to support people with disabilities to the best of our ability, whether that means us doing it, making resources available, letting people know other resources are available to them," Westland finishes.
