The Fourth Annual Irish Road Bowling Competition took place Saturday, at Wildflower Terrace outside of Holmen.
Bowlers of all ages came out to try their hand at shooting the bowl, or rolling the little metal ball, down the road. This event served as a sort of precursor to Irish Fest. Irish Fest will take place August 10 through the 12, in La Crosse.
Organizers say people had a lot of fun because it continues to gain momentum.
"It seems that everybody enjoys doing it," Pat Stephens, President of Irish Fest said. "We have some different teams every year. Some repeaters and so on which makes it kind of fun."
"People can start thinking Irish at this time, and having this kind of activity in advance works out pretty well," Stephens added.
