A Black River Falls man involved in a standoff with police last November is going to prison.
Denzel Sanders was sentenced Thursday to five years behind bars.
On November 22, 2017, he was charged with repeatedly pointing a loaded gun at his girlfriend's face and making comments about killing her.
A week later, on November 27, she said he threatened her again, left to get guns and said if she called police he would shoot them.
Authorities surrounded the Black River Falls residence that Sanders was in. People in nearby homes were evacuated as a safety precaution.
After a four-hour standoff, Sanders surrendered.
