TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WXOW) - The Town of Campbell Police Chief said Tuesday afternoon that a person of interest has been identified in a shooting at a French Island bar Saturday morning.
Chief Drew Gavrilos said the case is now going to the La Crosse County District Attorney's Office for review and possible criminal charges.
He said the name of the person isn't being released at this time citing the ongoing investigation.
One person suffered a minor leg injury when he was hit by shrapnel in the shooting early Saturday morning at the Dugout 47 bar at 1305 Bainbridge St. on French Island. The man was taken to a local hospital, treated, and released.
Chief Gavrilos said the shooting was accidental and that the two men involved didn't know each other.CPD-Press-Release-Dugout-47-update
