LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A well-known performer at airshows in the area is honored for his contributions for the aviation industry.

Dr. Bill Blank was inducted into the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame on October 23 at ceremonies at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh.

Best known locally for his acrobatic shows at the Deke Slayton Airfest and Riverfest, he's also performed throughout the Midwest.

Beyond that, he's an aviation medical examiner, flight instruction, aviation board member, and served as president of the local EAA chapter and La Crosse Area Flyers.

He first learned to fly in 1968.
