LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Work on two main streets in La Crosse means some short-term lane reductions this month.
Starting on Monday, October 18, a project on La Crosse Street by 7th Street gets underway. The lane reductions here are for road work and minor utility work.
The city said they're installing a new median island and updating an existing one for improved pedestrian safety.
Work on this project should be done by October 29.
Beginning on October 21, the city said intermittent lane reductions are happening on the Copeland Avenue Bridge over the La Crosse River.
North and south-bound directions will be reduced to one lane during the work.
Crews are in the final stages of the project that began earlier this summer. The work involves putting a polymer overlay to seal the newly patched bridge deck.
All work is expected to finish and all lanes reopened to traffic by the end of Friday, October 22.
