BROWNSVILLE, Minn. (WXOW) - There's plenty of video of majestic bald eagles swooping down and grabbing a fish out of the water.

The video from the National Eagle Center in this story is just as interesting although the prey is far different.

Jared Lueck of the NEC recently shot the video in this story down by Brownsville that shows a juvenile bald eagle catching a duck in flight.

While eagles are best known for eating fish, the center said that they will go after small waterfowl if conditions are right.

In this case, hunting success didn't last long. While the young eagle made the initial mid-air catch, an adult eagle came in and took the duck away.

The National Eagle Center is located in Wabasha. The facility is closed until next spring for renovations. They still are offering outdoor field trips to view both bald and golden eagles in the area.

Find more information on those trips here.
